Neolithic Figures from Ain Ghazal - Jordan
The ceramic figures from the Collaboration/ Twins Series were inspired by an exhibition at the Sackler Gallery Smithsonian, Washington, D.C. These ancient plaster statues from the Neolithic period (7200-5000 B.C.) represent examples of the oldest human-form statues ever found in the Near East. They were approximately life size and were discovered in 1984 at the prehistoric site of Ain Ghazal near Amman, Jordan.
